Cannot Find Your Yard Drain? Here Is Why It Vanished
A homeowner called because they could not find their yard drain anywhere. The grass had grown completely over it.
To find it, we hydro jetted the system and followed the line to the end. When we pulled the top, mud, dirt, and leaves came pouring out. The drain had been buried and clogged for who knows how long, which meant the whole system behind it was holding water.
Why pop-up emitters disappear
Pop-up emitters sit low and only lift when water pushes them open. The rest of the time they are flat against the grass, so the lawn grows right over them. Out of sight, out of mind. Then they clog quietly, the system stops draining, and the homeowner has no idea where the problem even is because they cannot see the drain anymore.
The replacement we trust
We replaced the buried pop-up with one of our high-flow basins. A basin stays visible at grade, moves more water, and is easy to check and clean. You always know where it is, and so do we when it is time for maintenance.
If your system has not drained right in a while, hydro jetting clears the line and shows us exactly what is going on inside. It starts at 500 dollars.
Common Questions
Why can I not find my yard drain?
Pop-up emitters sit flat against the lawn and only lift under water pressure, so grass grows over them and they disappear. They clog out of sight and the system backs up behind them.
How do you locate a buried yard drain?
We hydro jet the system and follow the line to its end, then replace a buried pop-up with a high-flow basin that stays visible at grade and is easy to service.
